With completing over 4000 traffic studies, our firm provides valuable insight and experience in all transportation related matters. We have a knowledgeable support staff, traffic data collection equipment, and the latest modeling software to provide the most current and up-to-date analysis methods.

Engineering Excellence

  • We’ve completed Traffic Impact Analyses (TIA) and Assessments for hundreds of projects including schools, single family/multi-family residential developments, retail/commercial projects and more. The main goal for these types of studies is to analyze the existing roadway conditions and forecast newly generated project traffic. Tasks includes the review of general roadway information on the adjacent street system, baseline vehicular volumes, and entering sight distance data.  Forecasts of future traffic and dispersion patterns on the street system are then determined using established trip generation and distribution techniques. As a final step, appropriate conclusions and mitigation measures are defined.

  • Depending on the scale and type of your project (redevelopment of an existing structure, smaller-scale project, etc.), some jurisdictions may not require a full TIA. In these cases, you may be liable to produce a trip generation assessment. Trip generation is used to determine the magnitude of project impacts on the surrounding street system.  This is usually denoted by the quantity or specific number of new trips that enter and exit a project during a designated time period, such as a specific peak hour (AM or PM) or an entire day. We can provided you with an estimated trip generation assessment based on the proposed land use(s) of your development in accordance with the most recent Institute of Transportation Engineering (ITE) data.

  • Equipped with our own camera technology, we can perform peak time frame / 24 hour counts to determine baseline traffic conditions at intersections and along roadways adjacent your subject site. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with your traffic data needs.

  • Our firm can review your project’s access configuration and let you know if it conforms to jurisdictional safety standards

  • To ensure the safe maneuverability of your access(es) and internal roadway network, we can perform modeling (AutoTurn technology) to ascertain whether your subject site provides vehicles with the proper space needed to navigate your site (see diagram below)

  • Determine if any traffic accidents have occurred adjacent your proposed development to identify possible safety concerns/trends on the surrounding roadways

  • Assess left/right-turn storage needs at your project’s access to ascertain if additional roadway channelization is necessary

Safety Analysis

Many jurisdictions require that various traffic safety conditions be analyzed before a subject site is approved for construction. Examples of traffic safety analyses include:

Traffic Control Plans /
Traffic Management Plans

Will your project entail work/construction within public right-of-way (ROW)? Many jurisdictions will require that you submit a traffic control plan (TCP) and receive proper permitting before getting your project underway/closing off ROW. We can provide you with a professional plan that will meet MUTCD and jurisdictional requirements. Examples for situations that may require a TCP include:

  • Land/Road Closure for Construction

  • Community Event/Block Party/Street Fair/Parades

  • Utility Work

Queuing Demand Analysis

Does your project contain a drive-through? Depending on your site layout and anticipated trip generation, you may need a queuing analysis performed. Projects that may necessitate this type of a study include: coffee stands, car washes, school, fast food establishments and more.

Parking Demand Analysis/Assessments

Need to substantiate the parking demands for a proposed development? By utilizing the latest data from the ITE (Institute of Transportation Engineers) Parking Generation Manual, we can provide you with an assessment that forecasts the parking demands required for a multitude of land uses.
